Meet your practitioner

Hi, I’m Sarah.

I'm a naturopathic doctor (ND) in the Junction, Toronto, and I focus specifically on perimenopause and menopause care — with virtual visits available across Ontario. I started Menopause in the Junction because I kept seeing the same thing: women who deserved care that was local, personalized, and rooted in both science and their own lived experience, and weren't finding it.

Why this work is personal to me

I'm 43, and the way perimenopause first showed up for me was sleep. My sleep never really recovered after having my kids, and a few years ago I started waking consistently at 3am, mind already running through the day's to-do list. At the time I was in a demanding job and raising two very active young boys, running on empty — so when I finally left that job, I assumed my sleep would come back on its own. It didn't. That's when I realized perimenopause was part of the picture too.

What actually helped wasn't one thing. Sleep and cycle tracking showed I needed progesterone specifically in the second half of my cycle, alongside real burnout recovery, support for my stress hormones and thyroid, and CBT-I (a structured, evidence-based therapy for insomnia) to work on the sleep itself directly. I even had to step back from high-intensity workouts for a while — I'm back to them now, but it wasn't the first move.

Sleep is one of the things I care most about helping patients with, because it's rarely just one thing — and perimenopause is very often a bigger piece of it than women realize.

My approach

  • Evidence-informed. I use labs, data, and current research to guide care — including staying current through NAMS on the latest menopause-specific guidelines.

  • Collaborative. You're heard, understood, and involved in every decision. If you'd rather not test, that's okay — I can build a plan around your symptoms, history, and priorities instead.

  • Natural-first, not natural-only. I blend nutrition, lifestyle strategies, and bioidentical hormone therapy as needed — whichever combination actually fits your body and your life.

  • Depth over speed. Visits run 60–90 minutes and cover hormones, metabolic and cardiovascular health, bone health, mood, and sleep together, not one symptom in isolation.

  • Sustainable. No extreme protocols. Realistic, flexible plans that hold up in a busy, real life — because I'm living one too.

Empowering women through every stage of menopause — with clarity, compassion, and personalized care.
